Mopar 10 Registry

Our February 2012 Mopar 10 of the Month honors go to Ande, n2blues.



Ande and Kathy, his wife, had been interested in the new Challengers since they were nothing but a rumor. When the online renderings turned into a concept and the concept became a 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT the idea of owning a Challenger became a constant relic in the back of their minds.

Ande and Kathy would head to the dealer where Kathy would day dream about driving a Challenger on the winding mountain roads.

Since the rumor mill and renderings took a few years to materialize into the physical product we all now know and love, the couple had made a few changes. The first one was trading in Kathy’s Dodge Charger for a new Ram 1500. The couple also purged the blood line of a ford ranger (remember, only capitalize what is important) for an Avenger. With the bloodline now pristine, they were in the market for a thoroughbred.

From time-to-time, they’d come close to pulling the trigger, but the likelihood of even more “suggested” donations to the local precinct (in large part to Kathy’s penchant for speed…and the HEMI powered Ram’s ability to satisfy that craving) they would manage to tame the urge.

However, this past summer Kathy headed off to visit the grandkids. In his free time, Ande stumbled across the promos for the Mopar 10. He immediately contacted his wife and told her to pull up the Mopar 10 page.

It was love at first sight. Kathy’s favorite colors just happen to be red and black and the Mopar 10 just happens to wear those colors with a captivating authority. Dodge Fever struck once again.

With Kathy’s blessings, Ande headed down to the local Dodge dealer and put the pen to the paper…they ordered their Mopar 10!

But as Tom Petty once said, “the waiting is the hardest part.” That proved true for Ande and Kathy. Their Mopar 10 made good time off the assembly line, but their first big storm of the fall turned into a 3 week slush fest with rain and ice alternating days.

The good news for the couple is as Ande said, “Since we were so nice as to make the salesman’s boat payment for the third time, they stored the car until we got good enough weather to take it home.”

And as with another old adage, good things do come to those who wait…especially if you are waiting on a Mopar 10! Kathy and Ande got to pick the car up in pristine condition thanks to their generous dealer keep it weather safe in the early days.

The couple has since gotten to enjoy the car and take it out regularly. This summer they plan to attend a car show in Canada and meet up with the other Mopar 10 sold in Washington…which was bought by a Canadian…I guess 100 just wasn’t enough for our neighbors to the north.

Ande has been a regular poster on the site and serves as a great representative for Mopar 10 Owners and this site in the Pacific Northwest.

Congrats n2blues, good pictures... Hope you have plenty of good weather this year for taking the Mopar 10 out!!!

The last few days have been in the 50's. We've been able to play a little bit. Took it down to Seattle Saturday. It sure turns a lot of heads on a 6 lane highway.
