I saw my first MP10 at a local car show the summer of 2013. At the time I was driving a 2012 Challenger Redline Edition. After chatting with the owner for several minutes, he said "hop in and give it a try". I did, and my search was on. Especially since my all time favorite car is the 1970 Challenger T/A. Remember, when these were new you just couldn't find them for sale anywhere. A few years later in 2016 I finally found one for sale roughly 800 miles away in the Cleveland, Ohio area . The car presented itself perfectly with 5,000 miles and was the exact version I was looking for. (Blue Stripe, 6 Speed, No Sunroof, Touch Screen 6 Speaker Stereo) The car was never dealer prepped so it still had the owners box, t-shirt, car cover, some plastic wrap in the interior, and all of the shipping documents and assembly line build sheets. I couldn't believe it... After several conversations with the current owner and multiple e-mails providing documents and pictures of the car, the purchased was made and I sent an enclosed trailer to pick it up. It's crazy to think I would buy something like this without actually driving it first. A couple days later the car arrived and I was able to drive it out of the trailer and see it in person for the first time. It was everything the previous owner said it was and I was very happy with my purchase. I still have the car almost 5 years later with no plans of selling it. We take it to car shows and local cruise nights. Even today, most people have never even heard of the Mopar Edition cars. I love telling the story and sharing the car's unique history. Awesome...glad you met your match with your M10! You got VERY lucky with getting one that had all the items in the Owner's Kit. It is much like a modern day TA! Thanks for spreading the good word of the M10 doctrine! I have used mine as my daily for the last 15 months or so and despite me driving it around 10+ years now, I still meet people that have no clue it isn't just a stripe I threw on the car. Even with subsequent releases, not many people, including those into late model Mopars, are keen to the Mopar branded editions. |
