This is a new one for me...
I am at the bank depositing my check and an suv pulls in the stall next to me...I hear the window go down (passenger side) and think, "Oh gee...someone else wants to race or ask questions." I try and avoid it by playing around with the stereo, stretching, checking the phone etc.
Then the teller sends back my deposit slip and says, "Thanks, have a good evening," to which I respond "Thanks, you too." Well, I then here a "What, I couldn't hear you?" I was thinking, "Gee, nutty teller" as I realize that was not a guy's voice (teller), but a female's voice.
I look over and see a girl peering over at me and smiling. I said, "Oh, I'm sorry I was just telling the teller thanks." She said, "Oh, I thought you were talking to me...I love your car!" I said, "Thanks!" and then her mom leaned over and said how her daughter was just telling her she was going to marry that guy and get to ride in the car
Over the years I've had a lot of random conversations at stoplights, gas stations, inspections, and even registering the cars (lady at the DPS loves Dusters, haha). I do believe this was my first convo at the bank drive thru that didn't involve a teller.
I was kind of caught off guard (I was expecting some dude to be wanting to solicit a race or tell me how much better his wife's uncle's son's camaro is etc). I said to the mom, "Well I am still single."
The big issue here for me is the age of the girl. I kind of suck with the age of women in general. I almost want to guess she was early-mid 20s, but she could have just as easily been 15-18 (see what I mean?) She looked to be in my age bracket, but the fact that she could have also been 15 kind of troubled me...Her mom looked young (which either means it runs in the family and I just scored bonus points, or simply that she is young bc her daughter is young). I know a lot of girls run errand with their moms all through life so who knows...
I told them about the monthly cruise night and that I'd probably be there and we usually had a lot of Challengers show up...
I was kind of in a hurry to get my errands run and almost regret not pulling over and giving them a card on AAM or talking more etc. I think if I wouldn't have been in a hurry it would have dawned on me...For the record the girl was very cute and clearly incredibly intelligent as she has great taste in cars.
I thought that one was pretty cool and further adds to the car's credentials!
I kind of hope I run into them again...I'd be glad to show them the car, tell them about it, and give rides...If I was thinking and wouldn't have been in a hurry I should have done that right after pulling out from the line...If she was really my age bracket it would be a no brainer. If she was 15 it would have meant a lot to her and her mom...
I kind of do the same with the Charger. If some kid really likes it and isn't trying to palm every square inch of the car I will let them get in behind the wheel and let the parent's take a picture etc. You usually know who this applies to as the parents hold the kids back but continually circle the car.
Nonetheless, I wanted to get this one posted while it was fresh on my mind...I'll have to be better prepared next time. Should have offered rides and if nothing else I should have pulled over to let them check the car out and give them info on the club. I'll keep you posted as to if I find them again...Definitely two pretty cool ladies either way
