Well, here we are about 9 years past when these cars were rolling off the assembly line. One of the biggest eye sores under the hood is the stock coolant tank. And that is when they are NEW. Toss in the age and countless heat cycles and I'd imagine almost all of them have discolored. While they are a bit of an eye sore NEW, they really look bad with age. On just about any other colored car, I would pull the factory tank, box it, and paint a new one (they are pretty cheap after all). However, with the M10 I am not sure how black would look. It seems like it would clash unless it was done with a body color, and even then I'm not sure about the end aesthetic. If it was HEMI Orange I'd be fine with a body matched tank, or a black tank. Black on black has to be done right to look good. I'm personally not a fan of covers, and am currently contemplating going with the Moroso tank. Granted, that opens up the wormhole of needing their Power Steering Tank to complete the look. In my case, it would tie in nicely with the catch can I run. I'm also envisioning the end result syncing up nicely with the strut tower brace. https://www.moroso.com/coolant-expansion-tank63497/ https://www.moroso.com/power-steering-tank63498/ So...what have you done with your tank? Is it bone stock, did you throw a billet cover on years ago, did you color match it? If so, how does it look? Has anyone tried running their stripe color on the tank? Feel free to post up some pics if you've got them! |

I've got roughly 7,000 miles on mine and haven't noticed any discoloring quite yet. When I do, I'll most likely replace the coolant tank with a factory new one. I think the factory tank shows better than painted or aluminum tanks. |

Never got around to posting it, but I finally got so sick of the plastic I replaced it with the Moroso unit. That of course led to me not liking the PS Reservoir, so it went too, lol. |
