Well, no need to lie...
I've had this forum ready for quite awhile, but have held out for this one spreadsheet.
I first heard of it from the Chrysler rep when I got the car. I had requested it, minus the names and personal info etc., back in January. I tried several times since then to get info and came up empty.
After our big car show, Chryslers in the Canyon, I got back on the trail. I got no info out of my regional sources so went to the big gun...Heather from the HEMI Highway Tour
I can't thank her enough for working towards getting to the bottom of this...for the last week or so I was beginning to think the spreadsheet might not even exist and we had made contact with plenty of people who seemed to have no clue what we were after. Luckily, Heather was persistent and had the right contacts and was able to confirm that the spreadsheet does exist! Great progress and it keeps me from feeling like a complete idiot for wasting someone else's time.
Then yesterday (12/14) we got the word we had been waiting for...we can't have the information, even minus the "personal information."
I figure it has first and last name, phone number, and possibly e-mail at the very least. I view this as the source that let to all us getting our calls and in many cases Owner's Kits delivered. For whatever reason, the powers that be consider releasing the car numbers, stripe color, options etc as a violation of Chrysler's privacy policy.
That is a bit of a downer as I had hoped to have that info in place to then match with Owners as the register or contact us...
But since it won't come straight from Mopar I basically plan to make our own
I don't want your name, street address, social security number, Mother's maiden name etc...Just the basics on the car: Number (1-100, 1-500 not the VIN), stripe color, transmission, options, radio(130 or 430) etc. It would be nice to know where the car was bought from, what you are doing with it (daily driver, show car, modified, stock, investment, etc), the story behind it, awards, etc, but you get the general idea.
I am sure some of you have heard of the spreadsheet...by all means pursue it! I don't see it being released, but who knows what the future may hold.
I can at least confirm that it does in fact exist...for the time being we will go about making our spreadsheet from scractch
