Here is the link to the Viper Dyno Day recap:

You can watch the video here:

Check out the video highlights from the Viper Dyno Day at Boost-Performance. Click "Read More" to get a break down on the mods to each car, the numbers, and their estimated HP at the crank.

Saturday, July 13th, 2013 turned out to be a pretty good day...Of course, any day you are surrounded by 500 HP factory supercars usually is. Having 6 Dodge Vipers around certainly fits the bill.
George, from the Viper Club, sent out some e-mails and organized a dyno day at Boost-Performance. George, at Boost-Performance, was happy to accommodate and we are glad he did.
Boost-Performance, located at 4824 Hillside here in Amarillo recently upgraded the shop. The new facility is very nice...George is so meticulous and clean you could probably get a green-light from the health inspector to eat off the floor. Speaking of the floor, that is where Boost installed a 224x from DynoJet. This in-ground setup can handle 200 MPH and 2,000 HP while monitoring all the vitals. This was the perfect set up for the Viper Dyno Day.
The snakes started slithering in a little after high-noon and the parking lot was soon filled with 6 venomous Vipers waiting to leave their mark on the rollers.
Here is the video once again:

Let's take a closer look at the the spinning snakes:

Bunky's 2008 Snakeskin Green Viper:
This car was treated to headers, an exhaust, as well as a tune from none other than Boost-Performance.
The first pull netted 549 HP, 509 TQ. The second pull bested that with 552 HP, 513 TQ.
Note that this was one of the first 50 Vipers off the assembly line in 2008...more on that later.
George (all these numbers come from George of the Viper Club, not George from Boost) estimates the crank HP to be about 634 HP, +34 over the factory rating.

George (gfviperman)'s 2002 Viper Red with Silver Stripes:
George has had this car since it was brand new and he has kept it stock...Let's take a look at the numbers:
The first pull turned in 408 HP and 448 TQ. Round 2 picked up a bit to 411 HP, 454 TQ.
The estimated crank HP is 473 HP, +23 over the factory rating.

Roberts 2003 Viper Red Roadster was next to spin the rollers:
Robert has treated his Roadster to headers and an exhaust.
His first pull netted 474 HP, 509 TQ while the second bumped up to 478 HP, 513 TQ.
The estimated crank HP is 550 HP, +45 over the factory rating.

Next up was Bunky's other car, a 2008 Viper Orange model:
Just like his Snakeskin Green car, Bunky has let George at Boost-Performance install headers, an exhaust, and a custom tune.
The first pull spun out 566 HP, 533 TQ and his second pull, which topped the charts today, cranked out 568 HP, 535 TQ.
The estimated crank HP is 651 HP, +51 over the factory rating.
This 08 was one of the last to be produced...His stable of Vipers have the same upgrades, but with better numbers on the Viper Orange car. Is this the factory dialing it in? A slightly tighter motor? Or is it just that Viper Orange is closer to HEMI Orange? Either way, both cars look great and put out killer power!

David's 1996 GTS Blue Viper took the stage next:
David has added headers and exhaust, among other things, to his Viper.
The first pull spun to the tune of 429 HP, 469 TQ and the second pull kicked out 431 HP, 478 TQ.
The estimated crank HP is 496 HP, +46 over the factory rating.
David is so close to the 500 HP mark he wants that I am betting sooner rather than later he will tune the Viper to that level.

Last on the list was Jeff's 1998 Viper Red:
Jeff has upgraded the rockers in addition to doing a cat-delete to further enhance his headers and exhaust.
His first, and only pull, cranked out 449 HP, 483 TQ.
The estimated crank HP is 516, +66 over the factory rating.

I know what you are thinking...that's only 6 Vipers! That is correct. And now you are scrolling back up to make sure it said "Seven Snakes Spinning." That is also correct. George, the Owner of Boost-Performance, built a killer Twin Turbo GTS a few years ago...it wears a tangelo-escent paint scheme and several other custom touches. He sold the car, but it still spends some time at his shop. With the blessing of the current owner, George to to bring out for everyone. This car is capable of some crazy, stupid numbers...Not only can it dance with the dyno queens, it is actually streetable and performs just as well on the track. That said, George had taken a bit out of the car and further dialed down the boost to attempt to make a clean pass. The dyno can handle the power, theoretically, but the car is so quick it basically overpowers the dyno at points...or in laymen's terms, it does a little burnout while on the rollers.

Nonetheless, it was good to see the car back out and despite being toned down and skipping roller it still put out ridiculous numbers! If you want to see them, check the video!
If you need any forced induction or tuning done, Boost-Performance is a great place to go. If you want to see more from the dyno, stay tuned! I have set up a group dyno day for Amarillo Area Mopars on Saturday, September 7th, 2013! Highlights will follow shortly there after...If you are interested in being a part of the action in your Mopar, feel free to chime in here: http://www.amarilloareamopars.com/phpBB ... f=6&t=4085
