I would doubt it but I could be wrong. Chrysler seems to have finally made a PCM that is unable to be cracked in the 2011+ cars. This could mean 2 things, Chrysler is gonna try to control the Mods that can be done other than your typical boltons, or now that they have one that can not be cracked they can put a 426 in it but dial it back for "safety and emissions" The new 392 is a beast for sure. If they moved up to a 426 I would be surprised if it is over 475hp from the factory. |

Well I can hope and dream lol. You can get a 426 or 440 but they cost about 15,000 dollars. |

Give it time, it is the next logical step. 345 (new), 392, 426...I would be shocked if they honored the 413 with a "new" displacement...not enough people will recall the old workhorse to make an increase in sales. I would think if/when they hit that platform it will be exclusive to the high-end or SRT-8 cars. Part of me wishes they would just avoid it. As much as people throw around 426 today you would think that they were prowling at every stop light in every town when muscle cars roamed the earth. A true HEMI car is not only hard to find today, they were hard to find yesterday....that is why they carry such a mystique. Short of being someone that got it because it just cost more, if a guy had his car dialed in you don't touch a 426 HEMI. If it runs rough and a guy could dial in a 440+6 it would be close...but a tuned 426 HEMI was a true world beater. I think folks forget what that means...The Viper was/is of the same pedigree, but imo didn't get the credit it deserved. The media touts ford's short lived projects and vettes too much to credit the Viper with anything. You won't find another car that a guy can pick up from the plant, drive to the track, kick everyone's ass, go blister down the quarter mile, stop to win a car show, and get back in town to turn every head you pass. The most recent past shows that the folks behind the scenes make it a point to pull from the past in bids of nostaliga and sales whether they stay true to the legacy of the past or walk all over it. I'm a diehard, they better not disappoint me! |
