Post subject: | Mopar Torque Boxes: Auto Rust vs US Car Tool |
One of my projects this summer should present the opportunity to add torque boxes to the Charger. Auto Rust Technicians and US Car Tool both have pretty nice set-ups, but I was curious as to whether anyone had first hand experiences with either make? First hand experience obviously being the best, but I will settle for any second hand info from installers, builders, or friends. The designs are very similar and I would honestly expect the benefit between the two to be negligible, BUT I am also interested in the "little things" like fitment and ease of routing lines etc. I'll be doing overhead welding, on my back, pinned under the car so that little extra 1/16" of an inch less wiggle room is much appreciated. Here are some links: Auto Rust Technicians: 68-70 B-Body Torque Boxes $249.95: http://autorust.com/store/mopar_b_body/ ... 2hrf8quhe3 US Car Tool: 66-70 B-Body Torque Boxes $199.95: http://store.uscartool.com/Torque-Boxes ... _p_32.html Obviously we've got a $50 savings with the USCT piece and I know they are made from 1/8" steel, but I don't have specs for the ART pieces. $50 is a lot, but it balances out if the ART boxes are an easier install etc. Thanks for any insights...for everyone else, stay tuned for further developments on this project! |
