Some of you know that I was going to keep my charger stock, but I had a tune put on my car and it shifts great now. I did not get to be there when they did it so I have little info on what was done. I was told they remapped the pcm but I did not get a tuner for the car he used his lap top to do it. He said try it out and see how it works and not to tell anyone that he did it |

Yep, tune is gone... Anytime the dealer connects it pretty much flashes what it wants. The guy that tuned it should have told you to pull the tune, or come back to him, before going to a dealer. If his price originally plus whatever this might be is close to $250 total, I would just spring for a hand held. You can install canned tunes, return to stock, and custom tune with either the inTune or Trinity from DiabloSport. Another perk is you can actually read and clear DTCs with either. It could have been crap gas or an issue with the tune that caused the trouble. Did he spec out a fuel to run? Gaining 40+ on the EVIC (guessing that is where you ran it) I would think it was a 91 tune... Hopefully the guy will reflash for free or get you a good deal on a handheld etc. If it was a custom tune for a similar car it might not quite be tailored to your setup... Keep us posted. |
