Here area few pics from my Halo install. I know on the new Chargers you can put the headlight assembly in the oven for awhile and the glue softens enough to pull the casing apart. The Challenger however is a whole different story.

I ended up taking it apart two times, the first I tried the baking approach. The second I used my dremmel tool and cut the casing apart. After installing the rngs I used JB Weld to put the casing back together. It looks like I may get to do it again as one of the rings had failed. not sure if it is a wiring issue or if the ring actually failed.

I wired them straight to the battery and put a switch under the hood. I figure I will only really use them when I am at a car show or something to that effect and the first thing I do is open the hood anyways

Here are a few pictures of the chaos. Tony.. the first pic is for you. She needed to learn how to take a tire off eventually, I figured this was a good time.

Damn Travis I was not aware that one had already failed. Hopefully they will get a replacement for you pretty soon.

Yeah I noticed it about a month ago. I dont think it is an inverter because the other ring on that inverter still works.

When I was trying to pick up a kit for a "surprise" for everyone I did a lot of research and decided to wait based on some stuff I saw on the rings and the fact the company I was trying to use was selling $4 bulbs for $18  Their e-mails left a lot to be desired and I wanted to see some first hand anyway, plus with so much to do I didn't want to pop for the new housings (didn't want to risk the factory housing as the chance for something going wrong on 1 housing was deemed very high, lol).

Keep us posted on how the ring gets handled...I think the way you handled it might be best (cutting the housing etc). The hard wiring would work well for late night parking lots and cruise stops etc 8-)

Do you have any night time shots?

Hey there Travis, Sorry to hear of the misfortune of the Halo. It'll all work out.

Man, the photo's are great. And, the day my wife "Changes a tire" (or just picks up the Lug Wrench), or gets under the hood of any of our cars will be a glorious day. LOL Heaven forbid she Break a Nail doing any of that stuff. Boy-oh-boy, you guys will have to come and get her off my case for causing the incident. LOL

Travis, Ian wants to know: how you got the bumper off without instructions, and why didn't you clean the bumper while it was detached? LOL (I apologize for my Car-Guy 11 year old son)

Here he is with one of his car show trophys (award):

I actually had some instructions, a pretty good photo step by step from the Charger ForumZ. it was a Charger but pretty close to the same process. As for not cleaning it.. well I was waiting for Michelle to step in on that task but it never happened. Maybe Ill get her to do it when I take it all apart again to install the replacement ring and the fog light rings.
