Yes they did come very close. See here's the story. I work on horizontal drilling rig. We hired the ft worth pd to watch the rig a couple weeks ago. While under there so called watchful a bunch of stuff got stolen. So instead of the company paying them 40 dollars an hour they send me down there for 13.50 an hour. I brought a gun with me cause the rig is in a gang infested neighborhood and I just wanted some personal protection. I do not have a CWP but I was under the impression by another officer I didn't need one if the gun was in the car and not on me. So about 11:30 last night two rookie cops see my car parked by the rig. They come down there. First off let me back up I thought that it was officer Stefanie (officer watching another rig) coming to check on me so I get out of the car. The start hollering at me to get back in. I volanteered to tell them why I was there, who I worked with, and that I have a gun in the car (like your suppose to) next thing I know there pointing guns at me and telling me to get out and they slammed me against the trunk. After my dad ( the boss of the company) verified who I was they still didn't let me go. So I got them to call officer Stefanie she verrified that i was who said I was. Hell up until she told them they thought that, the rig the 18 wheelers the trackhoe the cleaning system and the big hole was some sort of setup not a REAL job site. So they have confiscated my gun and cost me a week or more worth of work until I can get some sort level 3 security liscenses. Oh and when they told me they were taking my gun I said what do I do for protection the sergent said call 911 I said it's gonna be hard to call 911 if I'm dead or getting the shit beat out of me. |

That doesn't seem right...I'd get an attorney and file a complaint with the PD...not sure that follows protocol. The average response of a 911 call is around 4 minutes, the average response time of a .357 is much quicker  I'm sure they were well intentioned, but the thing to do seems to apologize for the confusion, make clear they were doing their job, thank you for cooperating, and move on. |

The two young rookie cops were ok with it once they calm down and right about the time they were about to give me back my stuff. A sergent pulled in and it went to shit then. Oh well I'll file a complaint get my gun back and I'm happy. |

After 3 months I got my gun back So in yo face cops lol jk I did get it back and it was a long process but it went smoothly and they were very nice. Can't ask for more than that |

That's good...the law is generally pretty easy to work with as long as you have not done anything wrong and are willing to cooperate. |
